HTTPoetics Week 2, Make A BIG Website
The topics discussed in the second week of HTTPoetics was about links, layout, absolute positioning, and sizing. One of the texts that we referenced is My Website is a Shifting House Next to a River of Knowledge. What Could Yours Be? and it really helped me understand different ways and reasons websites could exist. The prompt for this week was to make a website that is WAY TOO BIG "Make one massive page that is at least 5x bigger than what you can see on your screen. It can be very tall, or very wide, or both! Imagine a giant sheet of paper you can only see part of at any one time. Fill it with secrets and things to find. It's ok to leave space." My approach to this prompt was think about bird watching and how difficult that can be like looking for a needle in a haystack... but in the sky. So I created a BIG sky for the viewer to go and find BIG birds.
